TAMILNADU TEXTILE CORPORATION LTD., COIMBATORE.

The Tamilnadu Textile Corporation was incorporated on 24.4.1969 as a fully owned Government Company under the Companies Act.1956 with the following objectives.

Main Objectives

To set up and own Textile Mills in the State of Tamilnadu.  To carry on the business of Textile Mills in all its branches and to manage any such business or undertaking relevant  to the Textile Industry.   

State Govt. Participation   

TNTC functioned as Nodel Agency for arranging Centralised purchase of Cotton and machinery for all 18 Coop. Spg. Mills.  After the formation of TANSPIN in the year 1994, these works are being looked after by TANSPIN.  On 8.2.2002, the Central Testing Laboratory Equipments have been transferred to TANSPIN as per the direction of the Government.       

TNTC set up 10 Powerloom Complexes in various places in the State. Each Powerloom Complex consist of 96 looms.  Out of 10 Powerloom Complexes, 7 Powerloom Complexes were converted into Coop. Societies.  At present 3 powerloom complexes and one Autoloom shed are under the control of TNTC.

Now TNTC is acting as Nodel Agency for Powerloom Weavers Coop. Societies in procuring uniform cloth to school children under various schemes of Govt. TNTC is also supplying polyester uniform cloth to various Govt. Institutions.

TNTC is providing employment to 159 workers and 37 staff.

The Board of Directors is headed by the Director of Handlooms and Textiles as its Chairman.
