THE TAMIL NADU CO.OPERATIVE TEXTILE PROCESSING MILLS LTD., ERODE was registered on 6-7-1973  and commenced its work from 5-9-1973  to meet the growing need for processing facilities of handloom and powerloom fabrics produced in the Co-operative Sector.   This Mill is the only one of its kind in TAMIL NADU. 

MEMBER AND SHARE CAPITAL

The Members of the Mills are classified into 4 Categories. As on 30.6.2002 the value of Share Capital of the Mills  is Rs.1,10,87,400/-

BORROWINGS

The Mills have obtained the loans from the National Coop. Development Corporation/State Government and the Banking Institutions  at  Rs.2-72 Crores  as on 30-6-2002.  

FUNDS

The Mills is availing Cash Credit Accommodation of Rs.1/- Crore from the Erode Dist. Central Coop. Bank Ltd., Erode, for day to day working capital.

LAND

The Mills is situated in an area measuring of 6.17 Acres. The above Land and Buildings were acquired by the Mills from Co.optex at a cost of Rs.3.63 Lakhs in the year 1973.                                                                     

ACTIVITIES

This Mill is undertaking various processing activities such as Bleaching  and Dyeing of Yarn, Bleaching, Dyeing, Mercerising, Printing and Finishing of Cotton and as well as  synthetic fabrics.   The total capacity of this Mill is about 12.00 Lakhs Mtrs. to process of cloth per month. This Mill has generated lot of employment opportunities to the local people directly and indirectly.

MANAGEMENT

The Administration of the Mills is vested with a Nominated Board of Directors consisting of  8 Members under the Chairmanship of the Director of Handlooms and Textiles, Chennai, and the day to day Administration is looked after by the Managing Director, in the cadre of Joint Director of Handlooms and textiles deputed from  department.

EMPLOYEES

In the Mills, there are 363 Employees (Staff and Labours) are working.

PROPOSAL

The mills have proposed to purchase new machines at a cost of Rs.1-50 Crores with the Financial Assistance from the National Coop. Development Corporation under ’TUF’ Scheme.
