Commutation of Pension

 

(Applicable to those persons retiring on or after 1^st April 2003)

• Pensioners are eligible to commute 1/3^rd  portion of  pension for a lump sum payment Retiring Government Servants may apply for commutation in the application for pension itself

• The lump sum payable will be calculated based on the commutation table  and age next birth day

• Reduced pension consequent on the commutation of pension will take effect from the date of drawal of commuted value of pension or three months from the date of authorization of the Accountant General whichever is earlier

• Pensioners are eligible for restoration of commuted portion of pension after 15 years from the date of receipt of commuted value of pension

• The commuted portion so restored is not eligible for re-commutation
