The Family Benefit fund Scheme (FBF) was introduced with effect from 1^st January 1974

 In the case of death of a Government Servant  while in service, a sum of Rs.1,50,000/(Rupees One lakh and fifty  only) shall be paid to the nominee of the Government Servant

A sum of Rs.5,000/- for funeral expenses will be paid to the nominee immediately on the demise of the Government Servant  which will be adjusted against the lumpsum amount of Rs. 1,50,000/- .

 The employees of local bodies, aided schools, aided colleges and aided technical educational institutions, employees working under Nutritious Meals Programme are eligible to contribute under this scheme
