ORDER:

           In the G.O. read above, it was ordered that the general revision of Property Tax in all the Town Panchayats, Municipalities, and Municipal Corporations under the new system will be done with effect from the 1^st October 1998. 

          2. The Government have now deiced that the general revision of Property tax in all the Municipal Corporations and Municipalities shall be taken up with effect from 01.10.98 as per the existing statutory provisions in the relevant urban local body Acts.  It is also ordered that the system of property tax will be introduced in all the Town Panchayats in the State with effect from 01.10.1998. 

          3. The Commissioner of all Municipalities and Municipal Corporations and Executive Officers of all Town Panchayats are informed that the taxation rules and guidelines issued should be followed strictly for the general revision of property tax to be undertaken in all the Urban Local Bodies with effect from 01.10.1998.
